A Counter Stern Launch with Tradition
The well celebrated Frolic 21 has cruised the river Thames for over 30 years and its elegant lines are still very popular.
Come and test drive our Frolic 21 on the beautiful Kerikeri river in the Bay of Islands.
Launches of this type, with either electric or steam engines, were prolific on English rivers in the 1920s. The Frolic is based on the classic lines of those wooden river launches but with a low maintenance fibreglass hull.
The slender hull shape is optimal to be very easily driven through the water with minimal power consumption and no wake. With the added comfort of a full canopy available, it’s suitable to use in all conditions. The boat is available in three different finish choices with plenty of options to make sure it suits your every need. The Frolic’s low wash hull provides peace and quiet for a days cruising or is ideally suited to use as a trip boat.
Each Frolic 21 is custom-built to order in England by true craftsmen. Every detail and the materials used can be customised to meet your needs, whether you require a luxurious gentleman’s launch with varnished hardwood trim and wooden decks or a minimalist, low maintenance version for hire, with full fibreglass decks.
Options include a canopy, windows, forward facing wheel, side helm or tiller steering.
Propulsion can be via a traditional propeller shaft with electric inboard or with a Combi Nautic steerable pod motor for improved manoeuvrability.
We can even supply a Frolic hull ready for your own installation of a steam engine!
Order your frolic now to have it built and shipped in time for the summer season.
