An Edwardian Styled Counter Stern Launch
The Frolic 31 is a stunning gentleman’s launch, priding size and elegance.
She is perfect for cruising with a larger party or for a weekend getaway. Available as an open boat or with a cabin, the boat has the options of a GRP deck or full classic timber fit out.
Come and test drive our Frolic 21 (a smaller version of the same design) on the beautiful Kerikeri river in the Bay of Islands.
Launches of this type, with either electric or steam engines, were prolific on English rivers in the 1920s. The Frolic is based on the classic lines of those wooden river launches but with a low maintenance fibreglass hull.
The slender hull shape is optimal to be very easily driven through the water with minimal power consumption and no wake. With the added comfort of an optional full canopy, glass windows or even a cabin available, it’s suitable to use in all conditions.
The boat is available in three different finish choices with plenty of options to make sure it suits your every need. The Frolic’s low wash hull provides peace and quiet for a days cruising or is ideally suited for luxury charter.
Each Frolic 31 is custom-built to order in England by true craftsmen. Every detail and the materials used can be customised to meet your needs, whether you require a luxurious gentleman’s launch with varnished hardwood trim, comfortable cabin and wooden decks or a minimalist, low maintenance version for luxury charter or dinner cruises.
Propulsion can be via a traditional propeller shaft with electric inboard motor and rudder or with a Combi Nautic steerable pod motor for improved manoeuvrability.
We can even supply a finished Frolic hull ready for your own installation of a steam engine!
